Forgive me please… but these little cake balls really are the bomb!
For the cake batter I “doctored” a regular box mix, replacing the water with a cup of buttermilk and using four eggs instead of three, and after chilling the balls we dipped them in tempered white chocolate.
Before the chocolate set we added sprinkles and a fuse. For the short part of the fuse we used segments of snipped red vines. For the long part we used shoestring licorice, and dunked the end in white chocolate and a little sparkly sugar.
BOOM!
